The dish I had was delicious.

Ideal restaurant in Corona times. High ceilings and lots of space. Best of all, the food is also great and at moderate prices. Attentive staff and very friendly. I can only recommend the restaurant.

Highly recommended, great bar. The shop is class! Often there in the evening, 100% satisfied. Keep it up!!

Super Location, slow service

Was there yesterday with family for the first time and was already quite disappointed ... Station atmosphere, very loud. Although tables were barely occupied, it took a long time for drinks and food to be served. Starter plates were only cleared away when the main course was served, not once the question of whether someone would like to have a drink ... The lady seemed a little overwhelmed. The food to be packed was probably on the table for an hour, even when the dessert came it wasn't taken away and only when I pointed out that we finally wanted to go was it packed. The food was good and fresh but nothing special either. On the whole a flop, we won't be back. It's a shame, the birthday boy and the others expected more ... The owner has now spoken up ... has an answer for everything, but not for the inability of his team to keep it up ? Pretty arrogant! Thanks and never again ✌️

Very good cuisine that is worth the money, attentive and friendly service and a great atmosphere. Because of Corona currently a little drafty inside, if you are sensitive, you should think of sweaters and thick socks.

Not recommended! We waited over 1.5 hours for our food. Then unfortunately we went home on an empty stomach. If you decide to eat here, you have to bring a lot of time and patience. It's a shame, but that was our last visit.

We love going to the Holy Spirit. In the meantime we should also be regulars. The boss is a great host who always welcomes and entertains us very well. The service staff are very friendly and professional. We noticed this in the implementation by the service staff, especially during the current Corona hygiene and protective measures. In addition to the main menu, there are seasonal dishes and drinks. We have always enjoyed it so far and we have spent beautiful evenings in the Holy Spirit. We prefer to sit on the beautiful terrace, but there are also beautiful tables inside in this special location. We would love to come back and look forward to nice evenings.

We were really pleasantly surprised. The little menu was very nice and varied. The food was very, very tasty and the service was nice. Unfortunately we had to wait a long time to place the first order and even longer to finally pay. Therefore, unfortunately, a star suit. Outside very beautiful inside even more beautiful. A unique design for a restaurant.

Great atmosphere, impressive location. We were served very friendly and nice, only the attention could have been a bit better and something got mixed up with the starter. But it was and is understandable as the outside area was very well occupied and we sat inside. The menu is not big, but varied and fine. And with such a large gastronomy, a menu that is not so large also makes sense! This means that you can actually be sure that the "ingredients" or the dishes are guaranteed not to be industrially prefabricated mass-produced goods! And that's how it was, everything fresh and delicious! We left satisfied and also well satiated and we will definitely come again!

Great ambience both inside and outside! The food and drinks (especially cocktails) are very tasty and the service is friendly and attentive!

Without words!! A great atmosphere but terrible service. The few waiters are hopelessly overwhelmed. If you watch the whole thing in peace, it quickly becomes clear why. The working atmosphere is anything but good, the pressure from above (service management) is noticeable in every sequence. The tone in which people communicate with one another speaks volumes and is noticeable on the guest! Unfortunately for us it is clear that we can no longer go here. Because regardless of the service, the food there isn't a masterpiece for the hefty price. That is more like a mass processing. You expect a little more from such a location! And to be honest, I wonder where the positive reviews come from. It may be that one or the other was lucky and satisfied. But that is definitely an exception!

it is a special experience to eat in this location. Service is good, so is the food. the only disadvantage inside is that it is very noisy due to the "church height and spaciousness". You can still talk. Make a reservation.

Unfortunately, you can only assign five stars here. Ambience is great, food is great, attentive service and a great price. Despite the full restaurant, the food didn't take long. You should always make a reservation during the week, too, and go through the website without any problems.

My favorite restaurant in Mainz. Building with great atmosphere although noisy. Good both in Winter and Summer. The right atmosphere for a good German meal with beer.

I must admit I am always disappointed by restaurant offering German food and trying to be "high level". Normally the result is normal German food, presented with brainy arrangement, and very pricey. This is one case. Food is just normal, atmosphere is great but price are unacceptable for the quality.

A unique location in an old , converted church. Great for sitting outside.

Good food in a rather special room. Try the salads and crousterte.

The interior design was the first place that caught my attention but after I tried their menu I was reassured that this place has far more things to offer besides its decor.

Since it was a church in the past as far as I heard, the interior makes me feel as if I am in a church drinking a beer. It makes me feel a little guilty, something weird experience you can enjoy! : )

The setting alone is already enough to attract you inside, as it's in an old church. The service is nice, and quite fast. You get a choice of mainly traditional German dishes, as well as international classics, such as a chicken-bacon sandwich. Highly recommend the Wienerschnitzel, served with cranberry sauce!

Good food and nice restaurant

Nice food and place !!

Great ambiance.....but the food is average at best, and the service isn't what we were hoping for at a restaurant priced at "slightly above average". We opted to sit inside to enjoy the ambiance, and I'm glad we did. It was quite intriguing to dine inside an old historic church. They did a good job of minimizing the echo, so it wasn't very loud. Although, it wasn't a super packed evening. More than half of the restaurant (indoors) was empty on a Sunday evening. Which leads me to the service and food.....I have to say I was quite disappointed. I ordered the saltimbocca with gnocci. My husband had the pork schnitzel (subbed fries instead of the warm potato salad). My mother had a veal schitzel with the potato salad. My son also had a schitzel (kids menu). All the schnitzels were made well, but weren't spectacular. Portions were nice and large. My saltimbocca, however, was very dry. It looked like it had been sitting out (probably under a heat lamp or something) for a while. The gnocci was quite good, I have to say. It took almost an hour for us to get our food. When my husband inquired about the order, we were told "well, we have a lot of people seated outside". If we ever visit again, we won't be doing it with a family/child. Seems like a nice place for a slow and leisurely couples night out/meal if you're not in a rush and are willing to wait. I was expecting a bit more (after all, I can get a half decent schnitzel with better service at many other restaurants in the area). If you're into the architecture you may still enjoy it.

Ambiance is original and historical, but not necessarily very romantic: large hall with medieval vault, not very intimate. Friendly service, fast, the food is delicious, but also expensive. Or. The portions are a bit small and the side dishes you have to order extra. Price range is between 12 and 35 euros for a main meal. For most salads you pay 15 euros.

Great selections - both traditional German and modern flair

We all enjoyed our meals, I had the vegetarian one it was delicious! We will go back. We sat outside which was very nice but the atmosphere inside is really cool!
